This is the ability to create hypnotic responses without putting someone formally into trance.
Instead, you’ll learn how to:
Once you understand how this works, you’ll discover something remarkable:
Hypnosis isn’t something that happens only in a chair with closed eyes.
It can happen in conversation… in real time… while someone is fully conscious and interacting with you.
By the end of this lesson, you will know how to:
This is where hypnosis starts to become stealth.
In this lesson, David demonstrates the mechanics of waking hypnosis, beginning with a technique known as the “Eye Lock”.
Instead of using a traditional induction, the hypnotist creates a state of focused absorption simply by holding the subject’s gaze and directing their attention.
As attention narrows, tension naturally builds in the nervous system.
At a certain point, the subject’s conscious resistance softens, and the hypnotist can introduce suggestions that generate real sensations in the body.
One of the demonstrations used in this lesson involves lightly stroking the subject’s cheek and pairing the touch with suggestions that the sensation will:
The hypnotist then repeats the same stimulus after bringing the subject out of trance, allowing them to feel the difference between:
This contrast creates a powerful realization in the subject:
Something actually changed.
That moment of realization is what anchors the hypnotic experience and builds credibility.
In this lesson, you’ll also learn:
When done correctly, waking hypnosis feels effortless—and incredibly convincing.
Practice the Eye Lock Sensation Exercise with a partner.
“In a moment, when I touch your cheek three times…
You may notice a pleasant sensation begin to grow.”
Then repeat the process after breaking the eye lock so they can compare the difference.
Your goal is to learn how attention changes perception.
Practice at least five repetitions with different partners.
Now that you understand how to create a basic waking hypnosis experience using attention and sensation anchors, the next lesson will deepen this skill.
You’ll learn how to stabilize hypnotic states and extend the experience so suggestions last longer and become more powerful.
When you are ready, continue to Lesson 008 to expand your control over waking hypnotic influence.
Review this video at least three times, practice with at least three different people this week, or before you begin your next lesson.
Your next lesson is on its way!
Most people think hypnosis requires someone to “go under.”
That’s not actually true.
What hypnosis really requires is focused attention and expectation.
When you hold someone’s gaze and direct their attention to a sensation, their brain begins to amplify whatever you describe.
That’s the doorway into waking hypnosis.
Don’t rush it.
Hold the gaze.
Slow your voice.
And let their nervous system catch up to your words.
